Ajloun
A 12th-century Islamic castle in green hills
Ajloun Castle (Qal'at ar-Rabad) was built in 1184 by a general of Saladin to defend against Crusader advances and control trade and communication routes. It sits on a forested hilltop in one of Jordan's greenest regions.
